The aesthetic:
We started with a blank, eggshell-white bedroom—clean, but lifeless. Enter Makino Black wallpaper from Wallpaper from the 70s, and the entire space changed. The deep, rich black with subtle texture instantly added warmth, sophistication, and just the right amount of drama. It tied in perfectly with our decor, making every color in the room pop. The result? A space that feels both sensual and elegant, like a high-end boutique hotel. If you want a bold yet refined upgrade, this wallpaper delivers.
The actual work:
It only took us 3 hours, including measuring, cutting, mixing the paste and applying to complete a 14ft wide bedroom wall. We watched about 5 YouTube videos, having never hung wallpaper before. It really was a breeze and enjoyable. The biggest takeaway was use way more paste than you think you need. Further, following the tool about how much wallpaper and paste you need, was accurate.
Overall:
We’re so incredibly pleased with the outcome and this company. We’re looking for rooms to add more wallpaper to because of how happy we are.

The pattern and colors give a wam, delicate touch to my art deco office / dressing room. I chose the wallpaper to create a decorative wall. It’s been fun to accent the room with mauves, golds and a splash of turquoise and even a bit of baroque and fluffy area rugs… and I’m still not done. I don’t want the decoration to end. It is a joy to look at every day while choosing clothes or taking a mental break from working. Seemlessly lining up the details of the pattern was tricky but so worth it. And the thickness made it possible to apply to a rough, stucco wall without any further preparation. Such a timeless pattern and so versatile that it could continue to set the tone of the room no matter what the function.

You walk into the room and are immediately drawn to this feature wall. We have had so many fabulous comments. The first one often being, "where did you get that? I want it"!
The decorator said it was easy to put up. He loved it as much as we do and asked for some photos for his portfolio.
